Visual Designer For Stealth Mode Startup - $120k (seattle)

Confidential Seattle-Tacoma, Washington

Captains of Industry is a Creative Content Marketing agency looking for a
talented individual who's ready for their next career leap -- working with a
company that really cares about great design and big ideas. The right
candidate brings an entrepreneurial spirit, a drive to do great things,
dedication and integrity, and an ability to work well with the other Captains
as we continue to grow the company. Captains is located in a cool brick and
beam office in historic Faneuil hall, with fantastic people, a fun company
culture, and clients who are changing the world - clean energy, amazing
technology, craft beer. See our Manifesto at Summary of Position: Under the
supervision of the Creative Director, your job will be to take strategic and
creative direction from the team and craft it into compelling design in a
range of media, from print to all forms of web/interactive. You will receive
detailed feedback on materials from Captains' creative department and execute
on that feedback with precision. This is a stirring opportunity for a junior-
level designer to be exposed to a wide range of creative executions, learn
from our Creative Director with over 20 years of experience, and develop
meaningful work for companies trying to do something more powerful than sell
sweaters to grandmothers (not that that's not also important). The best
candidate will be able to design creatively and efficiently, manage the
production of their work, and take an active role in working with other
Captains to grow the company. Job Responsibilities: * Create design drafts of
materials after receiving initial direction from our Creative Director and art
directors. * Ask smart, probing questions when you receive input from our
Creative Director and art directors. * Challenge design convention while still
adhering to the principles of good graphic design. * Understand the thinking
behind ad hoc design requests from other Captains team members, and execute
based on those needs with panache and grace. * Collaborate with freelance
production designers, strategists, and art directors as needed.
Qualifications: * Strong attention to detail. * A passion for promoting and
defending your design ideas * 3-5 years experience with both print and digital
design * Experience creating infographics, websites, brochures, business
cards, ebooks, company logos, flyers, Powerpoints, advertisements and more. *
Excellence in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. * Working knowledge
of HTML and CSS a big plus. * Good design sense. To Apply: 1. Click here to
