As a Designer, you will play a crucial role in the visual presentation of our advertising and newspaper, creating captivating layouts, illustrations, and graphics to engage our readers, meet our advertisers' needs, and enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of our publication. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled designer passionate about print and digital media to contribute to the success of our newspaper.Responsibilities:Conceptualize and design compelling layouts for newspaper articles, advertisements, and special features, adhering to brand guidelines and editorial standards.Develop advertisements for local businesses, incorporating client specifications while maintaining the newspaper's aesthetic standards.Work closely with the Advertising team during the ad tracking process on advertisement development, design, and placement to meet their clients' needs.Select, edit, and retouch client-provided images for publication, ensuring high-quality advertisements and content.Keep abreast of industry trends, design techniques, and emerging technologies to continuously improve the visual appeal and relevance of publications.Assist in creating original graphics, illustrations, charts, and infographics to accompany editorial content and enhance reader comprehension. Collaborate with editors, writers, and photographers to ensure visual elements effectively complement written content and convey key messages.Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality designs within specified deadlines.Assist with organizing and maintaining a library of design assets, including fonts, templates, and graphics, for efficient reuse and consistency across editions.Requirements: 2+ years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably in print media or publishing.Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and other relevant design tools.Strong creative vision and ability to translate concepts into visually appealing designs.Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey ideas and feedback to team members.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design work, including layout designs, illustrations, and other relevant projects.A bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field is preferred.
