Knowledge & Skills: \\- A clear and compelling writer and speaker \\- Experience creating a comprehensive annual communications plan \\- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, e-newsletter software, website maintenance, developing and implementing social marketing tools, and using analytics to evaluate effectiveness \\- Knowledge of public relations and media engagement \\- Understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias; a commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion \\- Commitment to applying an equity lens to ensure a strengths-based, person- centered approach to all communications \\- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to work under pressure, remain flexible, and manage multiple projects while keeping a “big picture” strategic view \\- Excellent interpersonal skills and positive attitude; enthusiasm for collaborating in a dynamic team environment; ability to work independently and take initiative Essential Duties: \\- Create and drive external and internal communications plans \\- Ensure brand consistency for all communications \\- Design and implement comprehensive social media plan \\- Create and manage e-mail communications including monthly e-newsletter to donors, year-end appeals, event announcements/updates, and other communications as needed \\- Conceptualize and implement a branded monthly giving program \\- Conceptualize, create content for, and oversee production of event marketing materials (programs, presentations, videos) \\- Gather and write stories about youth served and organizational activities \\- Manage organization website \\- Support speech writing and copywriting for special appeals and speaking engagements \\- Coordinate with outside vendors including printers, graphic designers, photographers, and videographers \\- Support PR needs including writing press releases, coordinating media events and relations, and speaking opportunities \\- Support general fundraising activities and special events as needed Education & Experience: \\- Bachelor’s degree in related field \\- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of development/marketing and/or communications \\- Experience working in the nonprofit sector is a plus.
