The Assistant Engineer may promote to the Associate Engineer level after gaining the knowledge, skill, and experience which meet the required qualifications and after demonstrating the ability to perform the work of the higher-level classification. • Prepares or reviews consultant prepared plans, specifications and contract documents for a variety of engineering projects involving storm water, wastewater, recycled water, or other district facilities. Knowledge of: • Principles and practices of professional engineering as applied to a variety of utilities, building/facilities construction, traffic, water quality, and/or private development projects. Possession of a bachelor’s degree, at the time of appointment, from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil, environmental engineering or a closely related field. In the event of a declaration of emergency, any employee may be assigned activities which promote the protection of public health and safety or the preservation of lives and property either at the District or within the local area, or your own community.
