Assistant Professor of Graphic Design (Tenure System)

**Overview:** The Department of Art, Art History, & Design at Michigan State University seeks a Tenure System Assistant Professor of Graphic Design to start in August 2026. We are looking for a colleague with expertise in Graphic Design who can contribute to the growth and success of our department. **Responsibilities:** • Teach a range of courses in Graphic Design, including contributions to our vibrant Experience Architecture major and the College of Arts & Letters' general education program in the Interdisciplinary Arts and Humanities • Maintain an ambitious research agenda leading to publications, exhibitions, and/or commissions • Engage in an active program of teaching, research, and service/outreach • Collaborate with colleagues in the department and across the university to advance the design disciplines • *Qualifications:** • Hold an MFA, MGD, MDes, or equivalent terminal degree • Possess expertise in Graphic Design • Be an active scholar and creative practitioner with a record of creative achievement consistent with the mission of a major research institution • Possess a robust skillset in various dimensions of design research and practice • Have prior professional design experience • Have university level graphic design teaching experience • Evidence of team-oriented collaboration, outreach, and engagement • *Benefits:** As a faculty member at Michigan State University, you will have access to a competitive salary, benefits package, and opportunities for professional development and growth.
