Under the direction of the Director of Publications, this position works cross-institutionally, and with outside collaborators/contractors, to deliver publications and printed materials of the highest quality, furthering the reputation of the Cleveland Museum of Art as a standard in excellence. As part of the Exhibition, Design, and Publications Division, this position, on occasion, will provide additional graphics support to the Design & Experience Department, which may include designing in-gallery labels and didactics or other environmental graphics projects. Experience working in a museum or cultural institution a plus. Design scholarly publications by applying knowledge of typography, style sheets, and grid systems;Collaborate with colleagues across the institution to design and produce the museum’s quarterly members magazine, Cleveland Art;Design and provide proofs, special instructions, and digital files for print and digital delivery including publications, the museum website, and online presentations.Apply understanding of the museum’s diverse audiences to produce work that is accessible, inclusive, and equitable.Awareness of current and future design and sustainability trends in graphic design. Strong collaboration skills with a positive, adaptable, and flexible approach that supports productive working relationships across teams.Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
