AutoCAD drafter

JOB DESCRIPTION Under direct supervision, performs a variety of activities and operations associated with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD); produces computer- generated graphics and presentations; and performs other related duties as required. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES Provides support for the entry, automation, management, manipulation and analysis of spatial data using CAD tools, including the preparation, entry, and plotting of data, and production of maps and drawings. May assist in data collection efforts, and data analysis. Knowledge of Micro Station and/or Corel Draw software a plus. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: GIS and CAD in a planning and engineering environment Drafting techniques, principles, and procedures, General maintenance of personal computer systems Modern office equipment and procedures Data processing methods and equipment Ability to: See in the normal visual range with or without correction, Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction, Lift 5 – 20 pounds to eye level , Transport materials weighing up to 40 pounds , Prepare engineering plans and drawings, Use CAD software for mapping and 2-D drawings, Apply surveying techniques, horizontal control maps, global position, systems, Prepare plans, maps, and estimates, Understand and carry out oral and written instructions, Operate vehicles and drive defensively, Represent the Corporation in a professional and competent manner, Use good judgment in recognizing scope of authority when representing the Corporation, Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS The CAD Operator I classification is the entry level technician, assisting the CAD Department in the design of projects.
