As a small business we wear a lot of hats and are in search of team members who are open to working with customers, helping to grow our online store, as well as jump in on creative projects as they arise. You will be responsible for: -genuine and professional customer assistance - welcoming them and keeping energy positive and upbeat -sharing info about products and their makers -light day-to-day maintenance (making sure products look good and shelves are clean) -collaborating with other staff members on a daily basis -packing online orders and making packages look beautiful on the way out -***countless creative opportunities are also available based on experience, ie. Qualifications (all of which we spend time training and assisting along the way): -comfortable talking to new people (being extremely shy is difficult in retail, unfortunately) -retail (or other hospitality) experience is a plus, but not mandatory -being a trustworthy and reliable person is, however, mandatory -strong communication, relationship building skills, and attention to detail a must -comfortable connecting with customers to drive sales and bring value to the store -ability to multitask and keep calm while doing so Availability: -20-40 hours/week (both full AND part-time positions available) -In-person only (South End, Boston) ****we are not hiring for remote positions -must be available at least 2 weekends a month (we share weekend shifts to be fair) -must be available through to December (Fall and Holidays are our busiest time of year, so if you're unable to work December this is not the right match).
