Brand Design Lead

The Creative team is responsible for building a brand that inspires and educates our communities, team members, investors, and the public at large. As our lead, you’ll reflect simplicity in quality not only in your work, but also establish and instill the team’s practices with this approach. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to thrive in a creative, scrappy, and collaborative environment in which the best ideas change the company’s direction on a regular basis. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners, setting the creative bar and ensuring cohesion across all deliverablesIndependently drive design and brand projects from concepting to execution, and also know when to step back and gather feedback or ask for helpOversee design systems and ensure visual consistency, ensuring materials are executed to a high level of craft and clarity across all mediums and audiencesLead thoughtful, constructive critiques, where we focus on the work not the egoTake as much responsibility as possible, often managing your own projectsDefine, refine, and protect brand aestheticsSketch, storyboard, and prototype websites, publications, and brand guides, decks, one-pagers, digital brochures, investor materials, and corporate communicationsBe a team player with a "no task is too small" attitude, but also know when to delegate and how to mentor othersMaintain asset libraries and archives 8+ years of experience in graphic, brand or communication design experience at a creative agency, brand, technology company or similar environment3+ years of experience leading projects, teams or cross-functional initiativesMastery of Figma and Adobe Creative SuiteExceptional graphic design fundamentals, typographic sensibilities, strong grids, hierarchy and systems thinking Experience building and evolving design systemsProven ability to thrive in a creative, scrappy, and collaborative environment, while having the vision and autonomy to create systems and process for the futureConfident in the work, but balanced by healthy self-doubt (most of us are usually wrong)Smart, kind, creative, collaborativeVerbally and visually articulateComfortable mentoring junior designers and contributing to a healthy team cultureAbility to be detail-oriented and meticulous, but also a “big picture” thinkerAbility to maintain a calm confidence in challenging situationsOrganized and able to prioritize tasks from a big pile
