With a primary focus on external communications, the Office of Strategic Communications also offers expertise, insight and strategic planning to the Chancellor and other senior-level administrators on communications issues and events within the campus community.The Office of Advancement directly supports UNCSA's mission and strategic priorities by building meaningful relationships with a variety of constituents and developing opportunities at all levels of alumni, volunteer, and philanthropic engagement. With a best-in-class team in place and the development of a visionary campaign underway, there has never been a more exciting time to join the Advancement team at UNCSA.Primary Description of WorkWork in this class involves performing a range of visual/graphic arts functions used inpromotional, instructional, and educational materials. Art direct photo sessions.Select, digitally enhance, crop, position and size photographs.Create comprehensive design and work with director until both are satisfied.Maintain a comprehensive visual identity program for the university by applying uniform graphic standards in the creation of designs for university publications and web pages so that a consistent look prevails.Designs digital graphics for web pages, advertisements, email marketing and other electronic media.Save and back up files according to departmental standards.Manage deadlines of assigned projects.Keep accurate records in time keeping system and database for traffic of job requests.Other duties as required.Minimum QualificationsExperience in digital graphic design and illustration.Experience using Adobe Creative Suites software including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.Strong project management, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in time-sensitive situations to meet deadlines, coordinate multiple projects and complex tasks simultaneously, and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentExcellent judgment, impeccable integrity and reliability, and high ethical standards that engender trust.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Preferred Qualifications001122Terms of EmploymentEN 16.00 12 MonthKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesHigh school diploma or equivalent and two years of visual/graphic arts experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.Experience in digital graphic design and illustration.Experience using Adobe Creative Suites software including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.Strong project management, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.Requires ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in time-sensitive situations to meet deadlines, coordinate multiple projects and complex tasks simultaneously, and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentRequires excellent judgment, impeccable integrity and reliability, and high ethical standards that engender trust.Requires excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Special Conditions for EligibilityPosting NumberClose DateOpen Until FilledYesSalary RangeCommensurate with education and experienceRecruitment Range, if applicableSpecial Instructions to ApplicantsProjected start date of January 2026, contingent on the passing of the state budget.This is an Exempt Professional Staff position.
