California Baptist University is hiring: Graphic Designer in Sacramento

Compensation for this position is expected to range between $30.00 and $31.50 per hour , in alignment with what California Baptist University (CBU) reasonably anticipates paying for this role. The final rate may vary depending on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and prevailing market conditions. Proactively communicate any risks to timelines and propose solutions when delays are anticipated.Share and consistently express the division’s commitment to express Christ’s attitude of service, excellence, humility, and dignity in each interaction with university clients and external vendors.Ensure all working materials, including artwork files, photographs, samples, etc., are properly archived and cataloged for future reference.Stay informed on current design, branding and marketing trends through ongoing research and professional development.Assist in discovery meetings with clients and internal departments to understand the full scope and objectives of their marketing efforts.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Other Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrated ability and willingness to live and uphold the University’s Christ-centered mission and values.Ability to develop creative concepts and translate strategy into visual solutions.Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across digital and print media.Understanding of branding, marketing, and design principles.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign required).Basic understanding of motion, video, or social-first design trends is preferred.Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and incorporate feedback.Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, video, social media, and leadership.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities while maintaining high-quality standards.Understanding of print production, file preparation, and digital asset optimization.Knowledge of specifications for web, social media platforms, and large-format outputs, such as billboards, signage, and related.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
