Communication Manager/Office Assistant

Title: Part-time Communications Manager position Reports to: Washtenaw Area Apartment Association 20 hours per week Our Trade Association is looking for a self-motivated Communications Manager with experience in handling communication with membership and with the community at large. The ideal candidate will be eager to tackle the challenges of developing content that helps build brand recognition. Generating buzz about exciting and new membership benefits via electronic social media and by developing press releases for print and electronic news media. The ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats is a must. Communications Manager Responsibilities • Control the posting and communication on social media platforms • Ability to create content over multiple platforms to communicate with WA3 membership, events and issues of interest • Develop promotions offered on social media • Implement strategies to increase followers on all platforms • Help produce the communications that keep members informed through our newsletter • Produce Constant Contact Communications • Work with Association Executive to produce marketing strategies that build customer loyalty programs, brand recognition and customer satisfaction • Create and send out press releases with supervision • Create and post content to the association website • Ability to proofread, edit and create communication materials • Ability to create and produce all association flyers, brochures, and programs both print and digital • Ability to relate positively with association members Communications Manager Qualifications and skills • Strong presentation and communication skills • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines • Knowledge of graphic design • Knowledge of social media • Project management skills required
