Communications Associate

This position is remote. About The Role Primarily, the Communications Associate (CA) will edit video and design graphics and perform light writing tasks for social media and Child Aid’s website, under the direction of the Director of Communications. This position reports directly to the Director of Communications. Responsibilities • Edit video for Child Aid’s social media, website, and email outreach • Assist with the design and creation of social media posts for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter • Create a vision for and manage the day-to-day Child Aid TikTok social channel (under the management of the Director of Communications) • Update Child Aid’s WordPress Website as needed • Build Child Aid campaign pages in Classy • Format and design donor emails in CRM database (Virtuous) • Maintain and curate Child Aid’s photo database Skills and Experience Requirements • Strong video editing skills (Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred) • Strong graphic design skills • Strong writing skills • Knowledge of AP Style • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English or other applicable area of study • Experience developing effective content for social media (Hootsuite experience preferred) • Strong organizational skills • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Experience using these programs/platforms would also be key: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, WordPress, GoogleWorkspace • Strong interpersonal communication skills, and a well-honed team player mentality • Passion for effective, creative storytelling • Preferred: Experience working in nonprofit organizations • Preferred: Some Spanish language skills About the Position The Communications Associate role is a part-time (20 hour/week) remote position.
