Communications Associate (PT)

A small but growing think tank that is dedicated to global anti-trafficking efforts is seeking a part-time Communications Intern to support its outreach efforts. This position will provide a stipend of $15/hour and will average 10–15 hours a week. Qualifications: ●Bachelor's Degree ●A minimum of 2 years communications experience, with a strong emphasis on digital activity, with experience in media relations preferred ●Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, for a variety of audiences and channels ●Demonstrated ability to write compelling content—particularly for blog posts, short web blurbs, captions, headlines, tweets, etc.—and to translate complex ideas into simple but still accurate language ●Technical knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, metrics, and tracking ●Experience with Wordpress website publishing and management or the ability to learn quickly with training ●Knowledge of graphic design, audio and video production, or other digital content is a plus Job Duties Include: ●Work with the Chair, Executive Director, and other staff to develop content and communications strategies and execute them against a planned content calendar ●Maintain the organization’s website, as well as an active online presence, centered on the creative and responsible use of social media ●Develop digital content, including web text, blog posts, campaigns, graphics, infographics, photos, videos, etc. ●Use creative thinking and initiative to analyze digital performance metrics and make recommendations ●Aid in the development of more traditional press releases, fact sheets, and other media resources and provide media support before, during, and after major events
