Communications Director - Childpeace Montessori

Communications Director Overview: The Communications Director will bring their strengths in position and department development to lead and carry out projects, and share creative strategies and process updates regarding the school’s long-term communication, marketing, and fundraising goals. The Communications Director will plan the school’s annual and long-term development initiatives in conjunction with the Head of School and Board Development Committee. • Develop, foster, and manage relationships with parents, alumni, friends of the school, companies, and other individuals to meet fundraising goals in collaboration with the Head of School. • Provide necessary communication, logistics, guidance, and training to support the Head of School, administrative staff, and trustees in all parts of the donor cycle. Required Qualifications (Any combination of years of experience and education to meet the requirement will be considered) •Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications/Marketing, Fundraising, or Nonprofit Management (Master’s Degree preferred) •Three years of professional experience in individual giving/major gift fundraising with a demonstrated track record of success AND/OR three years of professional experience in communication management, social media content creation, copy editing, digital marketing •Experience working in non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations Key Abilities and Personal Qualities • Strong networking and relationship management skills • Experience working across lines of difference and strong personal commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including keen listening skills, the ability to speak in front of an audience, and the ability to write clearly and persuasively • Strong skills with databases, spreadsheets, software, systems, social media, web-based programs • Experience in digital and graphic design, SEO, and social media campaigns • Experience in an independent school setting (Montessori preferred) whether in a student, faculty, or administrative capacity • Demonstrated expertise in identifying and solving problems proactively • Proven ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, and exercise sound judgment • Character, competence, personal integrity, and actions that build trust • High level of passion and energy applied to delivering results • Ability to execute and take action to accomplish goals along an uncharted path • Willingness to change and adapt when presented with new information or data • Ability to handle complex administrative tasks independently while keeping key stakeholders informed Interested applicants are invited to submit the following documents our employment page at https://childpeace.org/employment.html: • A cover letter • A resume detailing education, professional experience, and relevant training and certifications • Two references with their contact information and your connection with them About Childpeace: Our staff works with hundreds of toddlers through adolescents in their educational journey every year.
