Summary

Are you interested in transforming technical content into engaging material? This intern position is located within the Roadway Safety Section of the Traffic Operations & Safety Bureau and may conduct work on behalf of the entire bureau. The individual will get hands-on experience designing, building, and promoting roadway safety resources.

**Work tasks:**

* Design, create, and update content for outreach materials, training resources, web page content, etc
+ writing, editing, basic design, photos/video, and graphics
* Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and organize content
* Translate technical and/or complex information into clear, engaging learning experiences for non-technical audiences
* Support a variety of bureau initiatives using your graphic design and communication skills
* Participate in project meetings and contribute creative ideas to enhance outreach materials
* Attend team meetings, events, and occasional outreach activities

**Preferred background:**

* Preferred majors/coursework include, but are not limited to: Advertising, Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or Graphic Design
* Ability to understand technical content and creatively transform it into engaging material for non-technical audiences
* Experience in creating graphics and photo/video content
* Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills with excellent attention to detail
* Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

Currently enrolled student in a degree program at an accredited educational institution.
