Customer Service Representative with Graphic Design Skills

Minuteman Press Midtown-Downtown Houston, part of the world’s largest and top-rated digital print, marketing, and design franchise, is seeking a Customer Service Representative with strong graphic design skills to join our team.

In this hybrid role you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients while also collaborating with the design team to review and prepare print-ready artwork. You will help local businesses and organizations with everything from business cards and brochures to banners, signage, promotional products, and marketing materials. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both customer interaction and hands-on design work in a fast-paced print shop environment.

You will greet and assist walk-in customers, answer phones and emails, consult on project needs, prepare accurate quotes and work orders, manage orders through our proprietary software, and ensure files are print-ready. You may also be required to perform graphic design and prepress tasks so that every job meets high quality standards and is delivered on time. Training on our systems and processes is provided.

Responsibilities

Communicate courteously and professionally with clients in person, by phone, and by email to understand their print, marketing, and promotional product needs
Create custom quotes, work orders, and invoices using proprietary software
Assist in the design and typesetting of customer projects (business cards, flyers, brochures, banners, signs, apparel graphics, etc.) as needed
Review digital files: check fonts/links/colors, check for bleeds and crops, verify print-ready PDFs
Review job specifications, troubleshoot file issues, and suggest solutions to customers
Coordinate with the production team to ensure accurate, on-time delivery
Maintain organized digital and physical files and records
Assist with light production, bindery, finishing, or shipping tasks as needed
Follow up on quotes and ensure complete customer satisfaction from concept to delivery

Must-Have Qualifications

Previous experience in a fast-paced customer service environment (retail, service, or print preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven setting
Attention to detail and solid basic math skills
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) is a plus
Ability to learn proprietary software and company processes quickly
Professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

1+ years of graphic design experience, ideally in a print shop, sign shop, or marketing environment
Hands-on experience preparing files for commercial digital or offset printing (bleeds, color modes, imposition, prepress)
Familiarity with print production processes, paper stocks, finishing options, and promotional products
Experience with Microsoft Office and basic data entry
Prior work in a print or marketing franchise or similar high-volume environment
Office organization, shop cleanliness, and paper filing skills i.e. invoices etc.
