Design Assistant (S & B)

ROLE SUMMARY: As a Design Assistant at BJU Press you will play a supporting role on the Art & Design team by assisting design teams with photo research, asset preparation, and other entry-level tasks. This role is focused on production support and organization, helping ensure that assets are accurate, consistent, and ready for use in products. Perform photo research to meet design and project objectivesPrepare images for use in productsOrganize digital assets using department file management conventionsAssist with simple formatting tasks in InDesign under the direction of design team membersApply feedback to refine task accuracy, consistency, and turnaround timeSupport design teams by completing assigned tasks with diligence and careObserve and begin learning file prep, layout, and design workflows used across the team Reliable, detail-oriented, and consistent in completing small-scale tasksEager to learn and open to feedback from team membersRespectful, collaborative, and professional in communicationAble to follow detailed instructions and apply file naming or style guidelinesCurious about visual communication and publishing processesCommitted to upholding biblical worldview values in educational content 0-1 year of experience in graphic design, production design, or related support workCoursework or training in design, photography, publishing, or digital media preferredPortfolio or sample projects demonstrating accuracy, consistency, and potential to grow preferredFamiliarity with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator preferredBasic understanding of visual organization, file management, and formatting tools An applicant for a position in the Bob Jones University group - Bob Jones University, Bob Jones Academy or BJU Press - must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
