The Design + Communications Specialist collaborates closely with the Events + Communications Manager to ensure all marketing efforts are cohesive, compelling, and deeply rooted in the heart of Salt + Light.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign + Creative DirectionLead design of all internal and external marketing materials for Salt + Light.Develop design materials for events, campaigns, and other external communications.Create internal visual materials such as flyers, graphics, signage, and print pieces.Maintain and evolve Salt + Light’s brand identity through consistent design application and visual updates.Serve as the owner of the design communication channel, managing incoming design requests and timelines.Support the development and rollout of brand refreshes, templates, and visual assets that strengthen Salt + Light’s design language.Social Media Strategy + ManagementCollaborate with the Events + Communications Manager to build and maintain the monthly, quarterly, and annual social media calendar.Manage Salt + Light’s social media presence—ensuring consistency in tone, visuals, and messages across all platforms.Lead the creation of visuals and graphics for social media posts, campaigns, and stories.Oversee creative direction for short-form video content and reels.Engage with followers through comments, messages, and updates—fostering authentic community connection online.Track and report monthly analytics for social media platforms and website activity, compiling data into shared reporting sheets.Internal Communications + CoordinationManage internal communications, including organizational chat channels and TV announcement updates.Coordinate staff communication for onboarding, including welcome emails, bios, email signatures, business cards, and branded materials.Support internal messaging that fosters alignment, awareness, and engagement across the organization.Manage The Neighborhood Village updates through the Remind App, ensuring timely communication for events and announcements.Merchandise Design + CoordinationLead the creative design and communication strategy for all Salt + Light merchandise.Support the development and rollout of staff merchandise and internal product needs.Collaborate with the Events + Communications Manager on vendor coordination, production timelines, and launch campaigns.Requirements:Please submit your portfolio to [email protected]’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field preferred.Experience in marketing, design, or communications preferred.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.Strong visual and written communication skills with a keen eye for detail.Experience managing social media platforms and creating content across channels.Self-starter and excellent time management skills with ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Alignment with Salt + Light’s mission, values, and vision for restoring dignity and belonging.Working ConditionsFull-timeMay require occasional evening or weekend availability for emergencies or community eventsMust be able to walk the property groundsLocationVisalia, CA. with a service area covering Tulare County Physical DemandsAbility to continuously sit, stand, or walkAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyAbility to travel via car, train, or airplaneEqual Opportunity EmployerSalt + Light is an equal employment opportunity employer and provides access to all employees and applicants.
