Our client has a 40 year history of manufacturing high-quality textiles in the U.S. With vertical integration and the capacity for rapid innovation from fiber, to fabric, to garment, they continue to improve their agility and enhance their technical resources for future growth. Today, they are a world leader in supplying high-performance flame-resistant outdoor apparel. We are looking for an apparel Design Manager with experience in technical/outdoor apparel to join our client’s Design/Development Team in creating unique product concepts and designs. This individual must have a passion and talent for technical product design, with the ability to be an effective team member in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manages the Design process to ensure products meet specifications set in product brief, including fit, form and function while meeting target deadlines Works closely with Project manager to ensure the teams deadlines and priorities are being met to achieve launch dates Collaborates with Executive Management and Sales to develop strategic plans Leads, manages, and mentors the sample sewing team to build quality product that meets the customer’s needs Collaborates with Materials/Trim, Field Testing, and Supply Chain teams Creates initial CAD illustrations for technical packages and initiates/maintains bill of materials and specifications Works with manufacturing to create samples and approvals for production as needed Maintains all documentation for development history and commercialization Works with Sr Manager Design and Development on design idea generation Works with Sample Room to maintain sewing guides for training purposes Communicates with Pattern and Sample Room Teams on design details and construction Attends all fit sessions to ensure garment design, fit and functionality are consistent with the technical data package and Product Brief Conducts garment review presentations to Sales and Leadership Teams.
