Position SummaryAs a Designer specializing in CAD creation, board types, and specifications, you will play a pivotal role in designing packaging solutions that meet our clients' needs while adhering to industry standards. You will report to the Design Manager and collaborate with design, sales, and production teams to deliver innovative, functional, and visually appealing packaging designs.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Create detailed CAD drawings and mock‑ups of packaging solutions, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry standards.Identify and apply appropriate board types (corrugated, folding cartons, foam boards) and their specifications (dimensions, thickness, weight limits).Understand and design a range of packaging types, including product packaging, shipping containers, point‑of‑sale displays, and promotional packaging.Collaborate with design team, sales, and clients to translate concepts into effective, visually appealing packaging designs.Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and client satisfaction.Work with production and procurement teams to balance functionality, cost, and feasibility.Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable packaging solutions to bring innovative ideas to the design process.Maintain accurate sample records and documentation of design specifications and changes.Cultural CompetenciesEffective communicator: clear, balanced, and attentive listener.Energetic and enthusiastic team member.Solution‑oriented, with a focus on ownership, continuous improvement, and accountability.Strong moral standards and a commitment to doing what is right, regardless of popularity.Resilience, sense of urgency, and follow‑through to ensure quality task completion.Systems UsageMicrosoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)CAD software and systems (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator)ERP system KiwiMeasurement equipment maintenance and operationWork Environment & Physical DemandsFast‑paced environment requiring adaptation to continuous change.Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, handle light lifting (up to 10 lb), and occasional heavier lifting (up to 50 lb).5‑hour days at a desk; 25 % travel required.Minimum 75 % onsite presence for collaboration with production facilities.Qualifications Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in industrial design, graphic design, packaging design, or a related field.Proven experience in CAD design and packaging design.Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Works, AutoCAD, or Adobe Illustrator.Preferred Qualifications Understanding of packaging design principles and industry standards.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.Experience with corrugated packaging preferred.Positive, friendly disposition.In‑depth knowledge of board types, board specifications, and packaging types.#J-18808-Ljbffr
