Development Director for Special Education School

• Creates a consistent messaging design and brand identity in use of graphics and logo throughout all Center’s communications • Facilitates obtaining and maintaining photos and videos for publicity of the Center and special events for all channels of communication • Speaks on behalf of Switzer Learning Center to community groups explaining Center’s activities, accomplishments, needs, and volunteer opportunities • Provides ongoing timely and useful information to board, staff, donors, alumni, elected officials, stakeholders, volunteers, and the media to increase public exposure; awareness of the Center and its programs, board, staff and student achievements; and build positive relationships QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Desktop publishing/graphic design skills preferred • Personal transportation for local travel to support development activities PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. COMPENSATION: • Starting pay is based on experience (starting range $50,000-$70,000) • 10 paid holidays annually • 5 days paid for Christmas week break • 10 days of paid sick time accumulated annually • Generous paid accrued vacation days • Health benefits include: medical, dental, voluntary vision and voluntary life insurance. In a supportive and therapeutic environment, students with an IEP eligibility of ED, SLD, SLI, AUT, and OHI receive special education instruction, counseling, language & speech, structured reading and math intervention classes, behavioral analysis/interventions and psychological /educational assessments. OUR PROGRAMS: The Heritage Program helps special education students from 5th-12th grade with social, emotional and behavioral challenges earn high school diplomas.
