Digital Designer

Confidential Norfolk, Virginia

Long-standing non-profit association in Richmond, VA, seeking design professional to manage website and other projects for international organization. Candidate Responsibilities • Ensure consistent organization visual brand experience across all digital platforms • Responsible for the user experience and user interface design of websites, landing pages and other digital assets • Migration of current website to a new website; to include all graphics, data, user interface/experience, page flows, etc. • Concept, design and execute digital deliverables across all channels; social, webpages, email, digital ads, event experiences, etc • Ability to do use animation to visually tell a story • Approach design with a mobile as well • Design of interactive infographics and other visuals • Editing of short videos • Skillset to create and disseminate email blast communications • Maintain information on the website • Keep up with trends in digital platforms, including webinars and digital conferencing options • Layout and design of several print publications • Other projects as assigned Functional Skills • Advanced knowledge of social media channels as well as digital best practices, techniques, and tools • Ability to quickly learn and work within a set of brand guidelines • Well- rounded creative portfolio with design and branding projects, including print projects • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring all deadlines are met appropriately. • General understanding of frontend web development including HTML/CSS/Javascript, as well as other content management systems • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, InDesign); After Effects, Microsoft Office • Working knowledge of email platforms (MailChimp, Constant Contact) • Working knowledge of HTML5 Leadership Behaviors • Pro-active, organized and forward thinking, with creative problem-solving skills • Excellent team player who excels in a collaborative environment where team members jump in to help one another • Create ideas for dry information; ability to flush out and highlight important functional areas • Conveys thoughts, ideas, recommendations and technical information in a clear/concise manner • Multi-tasks and works efficiently, handling various projects at once and delivering on deadline Qualifications • BA/BFA in Interactive Design, Graphic Design, Animation or related creative field, degrees in communications also considered • 3+ years’ experience as a digital designer in corporate environment, agency or non-profit organization • Understanding of associations, a plus Work Environment This is a part-time position, both in person and remote (scheduled to be assigned), located in the west End of Richmond, VA.
