Engagement and Events Coordinator

The Engagement and Events Coordinator is a key member of the school’s Development team. Dawson Mission Statement Dawson School is dedicated to excellence of mind, body, and character. Professional and Personal Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years of experience in development Prior event planning experience desired Prior alumni association experience desired Excellent written, oral, and communication skills Social media, communications, and graphic design skills desired Blackbaud/Raisers Edge knowledge a plus Excellent organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Alumni Relations Recruits and staffs a Dawson Alumni Board Works with the Director of Development to set and accomplish annual alumni fundraising goals Meets with Alumni Board regularly to plan activities, solicitations, and events Plans and executes regional alumni events Event Planning Provides organized back-end support for all development events, including community-building events, Farm to Table, Grandparents Day, stewardship events, and the annual gala Manages event logistics, including sending invitations, preparing mailings, follow-up calls and emails, and preparation of event materials Monitors and adheres to all budgets related to events Partners with the Director of Development and the volunteer committee to plan and execute a successful spring gala Communications Support Supports the Director of Development in creating text and design for collaterals, such as solicitation letters, emails, e-newsletters, postcards, and the Annual Report Prepares materials for Dawson Fund volunteers, including personalized thank you notes and training materials Coordinates and helps to execute a comprehensive development communications calendar and plan under the guidance of the Director of Development Professionalism Be a collaborative and supportive member of the Dawson Community Take initiative Maintain an attitude that encourages teamwork and personal responsibility Model caring, respect, patience and appreciation of differences The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $65,000 and commensurate with experience.
