Entry Level Graphic Designer

Working in close partnership with HLGstudio’s interior design practice, we help clients create memorable, purposeful environments that reflect their culture and support how people actually use space. Role OverviewWe are seeking an entry-level Graphic Designer to support the studioRIFF team on environmental graphics, branding, and experiential design projects. Responsibilities for the Graphic Designer include:Support the creation of environmental graphic design packages, including wayfinding systems, wall graphics, dimensional signage concepts, and branded environmental elementsAssist with brand identity applications for physical spaces (color, typography, pattern, iconography)Prepare presentation materials, concept boards, and client deliverablesProduce production-ready artwork and coordinate with fabricators/vendors under senior designer guidanceMaintain organized project files and contribute to studio standards and templatesParticipate in design critiques, client presentations (as appropriate), and internal coordination meetings with the broader HLGstudio teamConduct visual research and help build project mood boards and reference librariesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a closely related field (or equivalent portfolio experience)Strong foundational skills in typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchyProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop required; After Effects a plus)Portfolio demonstrating clean, thoughtful design work (student, internship, or freelance work accepted)Ability to take direction, iterate quickly, and work collaboratively in a studio environmentStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGenuine interest in environmental graphics, experiential design, or branding in the built environmentPreferred QualificationsInternship or project experience related to environmental graphics, wayfinding, or spatial brandingFamiliarity with 3D software (SketchUp, Rhino, or similar) or basic understanding of architectural drawingsExperience preparing files for large-format production or working with fabricatorsInterest in workplace, healthcare, or hospitality environmentsBenefits for open positions include the following:Competitive Compensation401k with matching fundsFlexible Spending AccountHealth Insurance Benefits including Vision and DentalHLGstudio is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
