Position: Faculty - Communications, Art & Technology (Graphic Design) Job SummaryThe Jannetides College of Business, Communication and Leadership invites applications for a full‑time professor of Graphic Design in the Communication, Art and Design department. Rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience. An earned MFA in Graphic Design or a related field is required.Essential DutiesTeach face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.Advise and mentor students.Serve on department and university committees.Demonstrate professionalism and integrity.Perform additional duties and functions as assigned by the Chair or Dean.Additional DutiesSupport community and academic profession activities as needed.LocationMain Campus, Lakeland, FL 33801. On‑campus faculty position.ScheduleMonday–Friday, 40hrs per week. Additional weekend hours may be required as needed.TravelNone.Salary and RankCommensurate with experience.Reports ToDean, Jannetides College of Business, Communication, and Leadership.Supervisory ResponsibilityMay supervise some graduate assistants, teaching assistants, or other student employees.Qualifications EducationRequired: Earned MFA in Graphic Design or a related field.Preferred: Doctorate in Graphic Design or a related field.ExperienceRequired: Teaching excellence in higher education; demonstrated graphic design experience; mastery of Adobe Creative Suite; practice in user experience (UX) design and research, including web design, app design, agile methodologies, and human‑centered design methods.Preferred: 3years of experience.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines.Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students and stakeholders.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Time‑management and prioritization.Adaptability to changing circumstances and unexpected challenges.Knowledge of the English language, academic processes, clerical procedures, and computer operations.Critical thinking, reading comprehension, research, interpersonal skills, and mathematical skills.Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, stand, and operate a computer for extended periods of time.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementSoutheastern University is committed to providing a workplace that is free from unlawful discrimination and harassment.
