The Montgomery College, Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus is accepting applications for a part‑time faculty position teaching a Graphic Design/Digital Art course for Fall 2026. The role requires an enthusiastic educator with a strong commitment to student learning and a professional, engaging teaching style.

The hiring decision for part‑time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management's sole discretion.
During the academic year, part‑time faculty may teach no more than 11.5 ESH (equivalent semester hours) per semester and no more than 23 ESH per academic year.
During summer, part‑time faculty may teach no more than 10 ESH for both sessions combined.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach courses in Graphic Design/Digital Art.
Maintain an organized and safe classroom environment.
Use Blackboard to support instruction and communication.
Track student attendance and grades.
Communicate with the Department Chair and staff regarding instructional needs.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Graphic Design/Digital Art or related fields.
Demonstrated commitment to belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence, and willingness to contribute to the College’s strategic plan of inclusion.
Access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location, and use of the College’s email and learning platform.
Eligibility to work in the United States without a sponsor.
For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of the education equivalency assessment from a nationally recognized evaluation service.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching experience (instructor of record) at the post‑secondary level.
Experience with a wide array of graphic design and digital art practices.
Familiarity with interdisciplinary and contemporary practices such as UX and VR.
Knowledge of non‑Western art practices.
Employment Conditions
Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).
Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable) is required at the time of hire.
