Food Recovery Assistant

Overview: The Del Norte and Tribal Lands Community Food Council (DNATL CFC) is seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic Food Recovery Assistant who will support the new and ambitious Food Rescue Program in DNATL as outlined in our Food Waste Prevention and Rescue Grant agreement with CalRecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to work as a team member in solidifying the first-ever food rescue program in Del Norte while decreasing food waste, greenhouse gas emissions (methane), and food insecurity in one of California’s most beautiful, isolated, and socioeconomically disadvantaged regions. About the DNATL Community Food Council: The DNATL CFC works to build a vibrant local food system that provides healthy, affordable food to all DNATL families. Be willing and able to assume new duties as the food work grows and evolves. Able to work both in an office setting and doing moderate physical labor as needed (including being able to lift up to 50lbs., bending and harvesting in gardens/farms, and standing for multiple hours at a time).
