Full Stack Developer

Company website found here: www.foodcalc.com. In addition to handling bug fixes and maintaining the software, you will also be working closely with integrating external APIs into our application. You will need to be familiar with managing and maintaining relational databases (we use PostgreSQL), being able to make SQL queries to pull data, and organizing the results into exportable PDF and Excel reports (15% of the job). Required experience: -Strong backend knowledge in Rails and object-oriented programming -Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and SQL queries -Working knowledge of modern HTML/CSS and Rails ERB templates -Working knowledge of REST API integrations (e.g. Mailchimp, Yelp, OAuth..) -Working knowledge of JavaScript and/or React Proven working experience in web application development and a solid understanding of how web applications work - including security, session management, event tracking and best development practices Aggressive problem diagnosis, resourcefulness, critical thinking and creative problem solving skills Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets while remaining aligned with business goals Desired experience: -Heroku and/or AWS experience is a plus -Experience in machine learning, test driven development, or cyber security a plus -Working knowledge of React Native is a plus -Any experience in graphic design or UI & UX design a plus but not required -BS in computer science or equivalent in a related field Responsibilities: -Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices -Maintain software and provide support for bug fixes and enhancements -Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices -Integrate data from various back-end services and databases, work with API integrations from external platforms -Create and maintain software documentation -Assist in maintaining, expanding, and scaling our products to be as efficient as possible -Stay plugged into emerging technologies / industry trends and apply them into operations and software development If you thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, have a passion for programming and/or the food and restaurant industry, please apply and include your resume, LinkedIn profile, GitHub or portfolio with links to your projects.
