Future Opening: Graphic Designer

FASTSIGNS is seeking a part-time Graphic Designer to create computer-generated graphics and vinyl output for customer projects. The role involves developing and modifying designs, preparing files for production, coordinating with customers and internal teams, inspecting output accuracy, and maintaining graphic files and equipment.

Responsibilities

Be able to prioritize what needs to be done and work autonomouslyWork on multiple projects simultaneouslyBe accountable for the expected workloadDetermine the best output method based on the customer’s needRead, interpret, and allocate appropriate time to a Work OrderWork with co-workers and customers with file transfers, FTP access, photo library options, online proofs, etcDetermine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, select style and size of type, and arrange layout based upon available space, aesthetic design, and production requirementsPrepare comprehensive illustrations, sketches, layouts, and copy for print reproduction according to instructions of the client or supervisorInspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to output. Ensure correct material is used for each job and output device settings are accurateMaintain customer logo library; convert graphic filesImage Sourcing: locate photos, understand copyright laws and release/usage requirements, knowledge of resources to buy stock images, work with service bureaus to create output beyond store capability, and understand resolution options and optimal enlargement specifications from image vendors and image originalsProvide proofs as necessary for customer approvalMaintain an accurate electronic record of File Storage following brand standardsCommunicate with other employees, Sales/Service members on job requirements, timing, and special needs; Production team on job input and output; Production Manager/Center Manager on inventory needs for computer suppliesBe accountable for the expected workloadAble to prioritize what needs to be done and work autonomouslyPerform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessaryAdhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codesParticipate in and practice the brand mentality of “Everybody Sells.” Constantly be looking for sales opportunities for the center
