Graphic and Multimedia Designer

Experience in Graphic Arts, Graphic Design, Applied Design, Fine Art, Videography, Video editing, Photography or other closely related field, plus skills in use of computer graphics programs and equipment. • Evaluates, designs, and produces displays and printed materials, signs, website content, and graphics for the internet. Knowledge of • Principles, practices, and techniques of digital art, graphic design, layout, web graphics and illustration • Display and sign materials • Visual and artistic design • Web page editing and design • Good oral and written communication skills • Industry standards relating to a/v production practices • Applications relating to composing and editing a/v files, image editing, and web publishing • Audio software for recording, mixing, editing dialogue, music and effects in both production and post‑production stages • Hardware/software standards for digital a/v duplication • Rules and guidelines for using social media programs such as Facebook, X, Instagram, etc. Skills and Abilities to • Apply rules of grammar, punctuation, and spelling • Operate computer, scanner, laser printer, production equipment, digital camera, and other graphics‑related equipment • Use current graphic design software (Adobe InDesign Creative Suite) • Learn quickly and adapt as technology and graphic design techniques become more sophisticated • Organize workloads, multi‑task, and prioritize tasks to adhere to deadlines • Problem‑solve and create action plans • Work independently and as part of a team • Establish and maintain effective working relationships that demonstrate sensitivity, tact, and professionalism • Publish articles, blogs, and brochures • Stay current on technology and graphic design techniques • Closely monitor and post to social media sites Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
