Graphic Arts Technician I

The graphic arts technician will be responsible for helping the Publications and Printing Service Quick Copy section of the print shop. (E) Creates original designs following best practices of digital design, typography, layout, and design using a Macintosh computer; all artwork created becomes the sole property of Worcester State University.E) Works with the Office of Communications and Marketing to ensure consistency in university brand and public image. Knowledge of the materials, supplies and equipment used in graphic arts.Knowledge of the methods and techniques of graphic design. Thorough knowledge of Adobe's Creative Cloud programs including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat with both digital and print design.Basic familiarity with offset and digital printing and step and repeat items to maximize sheet size.Knowledge of digital design formatting and technical requirements.Knowledge of the methods and techniques of graphic reproduction.Knowledge of the safety practices and procedures followed in graphic arts work.Knowledge of principles and correct usage of the English language including grammar, spelling and punctuation.Familiarity with Microsoft suite and Google suite.Ability to work collaboratively within a creative team.Understanding and commitment to the mission and goals of Worcester State University.Commitment to providing a welcoming, customer-service oriented office climate and to fostering an inclusive environment for all backgrounds.
