Department Overview: | The Wisconsin IceCube Particle Astrophysics Center (WIPAC) is a research center in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research at UW–Madison. The communications team is responsible for addressing the communications needs of WIPAC and the IceCube Collaboration, including promoting the physical sciences to the general public, interfacing with public relations, creating content for education and outreach activities, and developing and publishing digital content. Tasks will include: • creating, designing, and producing graphic artwork through various media for web, social media, video, and print sources for WIPAC and IceCube • assisting with identifying cost-effective options to meet project requirements • working collaboratively with other creative professionals • following established work processes to manage project workflow and maintain files • assisting with education and outreach activities All majors are encouraged to apply, but this position would be a good fit for a student majoring in graphic design with an interest in a career in communications or graphic design.
