Graphic Design, Assistant Professor

The successful candidate will Provide effective and competent classroom instruction in Visual Arts, with a specialization in Graphic Design. Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide classroom instructions for Graphic Design, Typography, and Computer Graphics in accordance with academic standards • Employ diverse instructional strategies that engage students with contemporary practices • Foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes critical thinking, creative problem solving, and discussion • Utilize the Canvas learning management systems • Provide timely, constructive feedback and respond to student communications with 24-48 hours • Advise students each semester • Maintain an active studio practice and professional exhibition or creative record • Participate in departmental, college, and institutional efforts related to retention, recruitment, continuous improvement, and accreditation • Provide excellent service to the University and community • Maintain office hours (minimum of 10 weekly per semester to cover a Monday thru Friday work week); • Perform other duties as assigned Prior teaching experience at the college or university level preferred.
