Graphic Design Assistant

Sweet Express, LLC a local growing transportation company based in Kentwood, MI is looking to hire a full time Graphic Design Assistant with experience in large format printing for our Breton Office. Sweet Express offers a full range of health and welfare benefits that start on the first of the month after date of hire. The schedule for this position is generally 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. This creative position will generate signage for Sweet Express' nationwide fleet, transportation groups, and business offices including trucks, trailers, road signs, building signs and logo wear for our online store using Adobe Suite.

The successful candidate enjoys working both independently and within a team to provide excellent graphics and concepts to fit the companies’ needs.

Responsibilities

With a fleet approaching 500 trucks and growing the Graphic Design Assistant will use large format printers to print all of the signage, vehicle wrap media, wall calendared media, banner media and heat transfer media including running a laminator and cutter.

After sign is printed laminate and process the signage to ensure it is well sealed and will stay protected for an extended period
Reloading media correctly for the cutting process to shape the print to set expectations
Weeding the media to remove all unwanted print areas from the media prior to use
Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

Experience with large format printing including working with 64” printers
Ability to correctly operate direct to garnet, DTG, printing devices
Working knowledge of RIP Software including VersaWorks
Strong attention to detail, especially visual impact and placement
Interest in Transportation and Heavy Equipment
Excellent verbal & written skills required
Organized & good communicator
Self-starter who is open to learning & embraces learning at an energized pace
Experience in Adobe Creative Suites
Experience working with large format printing, heat transfer, and vehicle wrap media preferred
Transportation Equipment knowledge a plus, Trucks & Trailers

Physical Requirements:

occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch,
occasionally reach with hands and arms, walk; lift push or pull objects up to 20 pounds.
Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
Infrequent lifting up to 25 pounds.
