Responsibilities

Teach graphic design courses at multiple Bakersfield Community College campuses, including Bakersfield, Delano, Arvin, City Serve, Job Spot, McFarland, Shafter, Southwest, and Wasco.
Deliver instruction in a variety of settings: day, evening, weekend, large‑class, distance‑learning, and hybrid modalities.
Maintain subject‑matter currency and develop/revise curriculum as needed.
Integrate computer and multimedia technology into course delivery.
Participate collegially in departmental, college, and discipline‑specific professional activities.
Support the academic success of a diverse student body.

Minimum Qualifications

Any bachelor’s degree or higher and a minimum of two years of professional experience; or
Any associate degree and a minimum of six years of professional experience.
Professional experience must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment. If a master’s degree is held, professional experience is required.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Degrees from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Non‑U.S. degrees must be evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation service.
Screening will be conducted by a committee that reserves the right to limit the number of interviews granted. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.
Equivalent qualifications may be considered; candidates should submit an Application for Equivalence form with supporting documentation if applicable.
