Job Title: Graphic Design Intern L’Alliance New York is currently looking for a design intern/trainee for a 12- to 18-month internship, starting on September 9, 2024. As an independent, not-for-profit organization, L’Alliance New York is committed to providing our audience and students with engaging French language classes and audacious multi-disciplinary programming that celebrates the diversity of francophone cultures and creativity around the world. Responsibilities: • Learning from the Senior Manager of Design and the Multimedia Designer about marketing design principles • Managing deadline driven schedules • Helping to organize the design projects calendar • Meeting weekly deadlines for projects and proactively sharing status updates with the Design Team, Marketing VP, Marketing team, and wider organization • Collaborating with the Design Team, Marketing VP, and Marketing team to develop creative concepts and designs • Designing various marketing materials, including posters, postcards, social media posts, and web banners • Editing video content for website, ads, and social media • Presenting work to internal Marketing team members and other teams, as needed • Creating PDFs and printed hard copy “proofs” of designs to share for internal approvals • Attending L’Alliance New York events and taking photos for social media and future use • General office duties in support of the design team and marketing team more broadly Education/Skills Required: • Achieved or currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design • Advanced knowledge and experience with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop • Proficient in Premiere Pro and After Effects • Strong skills in motion design and photography are a strong plus • Strong attention to detail, well organized and able to multi-task, changing gears when necessary • Deep experience and comfort with using Mac operation systems • Strong attention to typography • Knowledge of French preferred • Must be available for a 12-month internship • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a Centers for Disease Control (CDC) or World Health Organization (WHO) authorized vaccine (or approved for an exemption as a reasonable accommodation due to a qualified disability or sincerely held religious belief or other legal basis)
