Graphic Design Intern

The Graphic Design Intern will assist the Marketing Production Manager with design and marketing projects in support of the company’s communications and marketing goals and objectives. The ideal candidate has a creative passion for graphic design, has experience with various design tools and can conceptualize and create attractive design solutions. This role will aid in maintaining a consistent visual image that promotes the worldwide Babcock & Wilcox brand. • Develop visually appealing designs for presentations, videos, trade shows, ads, literature, social media, presentations and/or other materials on an as-needed basis (60%) • Create motion graphic elements and perform photo/vector manipulations/enhancements (30%) • Preflight digital and print project files for submission to clients (10%) • Work cross-functionally to create graphics and designs while collaborating closely with other team members and/or manager to successfully execute projects • Assist with: • gathering assets (original and stock) including images and video • in-house video production • the organization, storage and archiving of design element files • These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned • Currently enrolled at an accredited university and pursuing a degree in graphic design and visual communications or related field. • Significant course work in graphic design, print production, visual arts, or a related field along with an outstanding portfolio that demonstrates clear knowledge of digital design and print is required • Must be fluent in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects and PowerPoint) • Strong writing and editing skills • Previous internship experience is a plus • Examples of related work is required • Strong creative graphic design and analytical skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Demonstrated typographic and layout skills • Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills • Self-motivated, capable of independent follow up, and meeting deadlines • The ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment • Successfully follow a development timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on time
