Visit Tallahassee – Leon County Division of Tourism, is the official destination marketing organization for Florida’s Capital City. Funded by the Tourist Development Tax generated from overnight visitors in Leon County, Visit Tallahassee promotes the region as a premier destination for leisure travel, sports tourism, meetings, and special events.

Position Summary

Visit Tallahassee is seeking a creative, motivated Graphic Design Intern to support our sales and marketing teams in visually promoting Tallahassee as a vibrant and competitive destination.

This role provides hands-on experience designing digital marketing assets, social media graphics, and promotional materials used to promote tourism, sports events, meetings, and local attractions. The intern will work closely with the marketing team, to bring campaigns to life through engaging visual content.

The ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, and eager to build a professional design portfolio while gaining real-world experience in destination marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design Support

o Create graphics for social media, digital campaigns, website content, email marketing, and promotional materials.

o Assist with designing marketing collateral including event graphics, digital ads, presentations, and visitor-facing materials.

o Ensure all creative work aligns with Visit Tallahassee brand standards and visual guideline

Social Media & Digital Content

o Design visual assets for Visit Tallahassee’s social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

o Assist with short-form video editing and simple motion graphics for social media using tools such as CapCut.

Creative Campaign Support

o Collaborate with the marketing team to develop visuals that support marketing

campaigns, events, and tourism initiatives.

o Assist in brainstorming creative ideas for digital campaigns and storytelling through

design.

Event & Activation Support

o Assist with visual materials and signage for in-market events and promotional

activations.

o Support marketing team presence at community events and tourism initiatives

when needed.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a program in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing,

Digital Media, or a related field

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, or similar content creation tools

• Strong attention to detail and visual storytelling skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment

• Passion for creative marketing and interest in tourism, sports, or events

Preferred Skills

• Basic photography and/or videography skills

• Experience designing for social media and digital campaigns

• Familiarity with branding and visual identity systems

• Experience creating short-form video or motion graphics
