Graphic Design Intern - Full-time

/pp/pp/pp/ppbspanMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/span/b/ppbspanBe a maturing disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ:/span/b/pullispanSeek Him and follow Him in every area of life /span/lilispanGrow in love for God through the classic disciplines of the Christian life /span/lilispanModel the Biblical lifestyle /span/liliDevelop and deepen understanding of what it means to be a Christian artist/li/ulp/ppbspanContribute to the creative process and development of communication tools:/span/b/pullispanAssist in implementing and upholding the visual identity and brand of InterVarsity/USA/span/lilispanDesign and produce visual communication resources for national communications and events, InterVarsity ministries, and occasionally, individual chapters /spanullispanMay design and produce animation sequences (2D and 3D) as assigned /span/lilispanMay be involved in photography production, processing and editing as assigned and as interested/span/li/ul/lilispanCreate and distribute templates for visual communication for InterVarsity staff use /span/lilispanAssist in designing and developing the InterVarsity website in partnership with InterVarsity web developers and communications leadership /span/lilispanWork with clients and art director to understand scope and purpose of assigned projects /span/lilispanGather information, research, and conceptualize visual treatments for assigned projects /span/lilispanPresent drafts that convey concept, layout, size, type size and style, and other related design choices to clients and art director for feedback and approval /span/lilispanDiscuss with art director and agree on edits to be implemented into final design /span/lilispanComplete final output for assigned projects in necessary format (print or digital) and submit deliverables to clients /span/lilispanDevelop and grow design skills through participation in training, conferences, and other learning opportunities as assigned /span/lilispanStay informed on trends in the communication field and contemporary media, images, and ideas /span/lilispanStay current on computer systems and other media skills /span/li/ulp/ppbspanParticipate in the ministries of InterVarsity:/span/b/pullispanProvide technical support for InterVarsity conferences, camps, and other meetings as assigned /span/lilispanAttend and/or staff InterVarsity events, conferences, chapter meetings, etc. as agreed upon with supervisor /span/li/ulp/ppbspanContribute to the team effort:/span/b/pullispanWork to assure order and organization of systems, equipment, and team work spaces /span/lilispanBe responsible for good stewardship of time, equipment, and materials /span/lilispanComplete assigned projects within allocated time /span/lilispanWork on special tasks related to the ministry of 2100 as assigned /span/lilispanMaintain healthy relationships with 2100 team members and clients /span/lilispanProvide helpful critical feedback into other team members’ design work /span/lilispanFulfill large format printing orders for InterVarsity staff as assigned /span/lilispanMaintain the organization of design files and image archive /span/lilispanKeep graphics and visual resources available and up-to-date on 2100 website /span/lilispanParticipate in team meetings, project brainstorming, and feedback sessions/span/li/ulp/ppbspanMaintain sound financial status:/span/b/pullispanRaise personal support at the level assigned by supervisor /span/lilispanKeep expenditures within budget /span/lilispanDevelop and maintain a small group of people who covenant to support your ministry with prayer/span/lilispanCommunicate regularly with ministry partners/span/li/ulp/ppbspanQUALIFICATIONS/span/b/pullispanAnnual affirmation of InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement/span/lilispanA college or university degree or enrollment in a degree program/span/lilispanCommitment to Jesus Christ and with a heart for students, visual communication, and the arts /span/lilispanCommitment to growing relationships with God, his Word, his people, and the church /span/lilispanExperience with computers and up-to-date working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs /span/lilispanStrong artistic sense, creative skills and technical expertise in visual communication /span/lilispanAbility to work well as part of a team and put others’ needs before own needs /span/lilispanSensitivity to and ability to work with diverse cultures and ethnicities /span/lilispanExperience with or knowledge of InterVarsity, or ability to quickly understand and be committed to InterVarsity’s purpose /span/lilispanAbility to be a self-starter and work independently /span/lilispanAbility to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills /span/lilispanWillingness to learn new things and think #34;outside of the box#34;
