Graphic Design Intern Under the Direction of the Director of Design and working closely with the Design Department’s Assistant Art Director; the Graphic Design Intern position is intended for an undergraduate student that will focus on assisting with the planning and creation of a wide variety of museum design and graphic activities. The Graphic Design Intern will collaborate with Designers, Education, Visitor Services, Curators, and administrative museum staff in order to determine solutions and avenues of exploration for the successful communication of display ideas stemming from the design process. Qualifications • Enrolled in and returning to an undergraduate program at an accredited institution of higher learning following the internship period • *Submission of a portfolio of related completed projects • Keen interest in art and design • Good communication skills • Detailed based and aesthetic practices • Ability to commit up to 20 hours per week for at least 10 weeks (between 9am-5pm Monday through Friday), between June 17 and August 22, including attendance at the Museum Pathways & Practices professional development course from 12:30-2:30pm on the following Thursdays: June 26; July 3; July 10; July 17; July 24; July 31; Aug 7; Aug 14; and Aug 21.
