Graphic Design Lead

This position will primarily serve as Design Lead for several programs related to NREL’s Wind research, and provide additional design support to other technologies, programs areas, and the Communications Office Corporate team. Experience in the following areas will be required for a candidate to excel in this role: • Collaborating with clients to understand their complete business needs, with a focus on providing the most impactful and meaningful solutions • Detailed-oriented, budget steward, and advanced written and verbal communication skill at multiple levels (peers, team, clients) • Experience and passion for creating human-centered experiences that delight end users and that solve business problems • You bring a toolkit of methods, processes, and approaches that you've built up over time and experience • Natural intellectual curiosity and problem-solving drive • Demonstrated ability to build and manage successful multi-disciplinary teams (in a non-supervisory fashion), as well as manage projects end-to-end from a budgetary and client relationship perspective • Willingness to engage with stakeholders and help them to influence decisions • A desire to contribute to the broader success of the Communications Office by playing a mentoring and coaching role to other team members • You will have a tertiary interest in Design thinking, UX, interaction design, service design, environmental design, or other contemporary design disciplines • Learning, iterating, and evolving with assigned technology/program/client • Gathering and surfacing insights that shape solutions and innovations • Prototyping flows and experiences • Ability to act as the voice of the customer • Scoping project outlines and manage dependencies • Eager to make change happen, desire to seize opportunities as they arise, and drive toward goals with energy and enthusiasm • Desire to align, fully immerse yourself, and become an expert in a particular body of work/technology area(s) Limited-term positions are not eligible for long-term disability or tuition reimbursement.
