Tentative Schedule:

Intro to Graphic Design and Branding:  Mondays, Wednesdays, and alternating Fridays 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

 

Position Purpose

The Graphic Design Teacher works under the supervision of the Academic Dean and is responsible for meeting all scheduled classes and instructing students in visual communication, digital art, typography, and industry-standard software, guiding students from initial concept to completed design, in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of CEC, the community college, and the approved course syllabus.

Job Duties

Upholds CECs beliefs found on the CEC website.
Develops and administers Graphic Design education curriculum consistent with community college objectives.
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials to enhance learning.
Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of course work to everyday life.
Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods accordingly.
Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
Organizes and maintains Infinite Campus (IC) for accurate and complete recordkeeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and daily attendance as required in CEC policies.
Ensures that student conduct conforms with CECs Student and Family Handbook and CEC policies.
Collaborates with other CEC staff members and participates in staff meetings and professional development as requested by the Head of School.
Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsQualifications

Bachelors degree in art education or related field.
Experience with project-based learning.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Experience with graphic design standards and software.
