Oversee all design ascetics for the Council Member to provide visual cohesion: • Draft graphics for flyers, banners, websites, journal ads, and other promotional material • Develop social media content that relays dense material for the consumption of the general public • Coordinate with staff in the design concept phase through completion of a project • Obtain approval of concepts by preparing rough layouts for review • Coordinate with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc. to complete projects • Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; and participating in professional societies Contribute to the Elected Official’s social media page and website • Work with the Director of Communications to oversee the social media and website • Monitor constituent inquiries that come via social media, flag them for appropriate staff, and share intake forms to inquirer • Ensure all commemorative months, weeks, days have a social media post related to them • Increase the Elected Official’s engagement with constituents on social media (i.e., facebook live Q&A, twitter or IG live, etc.) • Strong ability to meet deadline and remain organized outside of an office environment • Minimum of 1 year of communications, social media management, graphic design, and/or marketing experience required • Knowledge of New York City government operations preferred • Advanced Adobe Suite and Canva skills, with an ability to become familiar with company-specific programs and software • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Exceptional interpersonal skills • Applicants must be comfortable with extensive public speaking and evening meetings Application Question(s): • Are you a resident of the City of New York?
