The Graphic Designer for the Office of Marketing and Communications oversees the design and production of all relevant print materials and website assets while working collaboratively with clients throughout the Colby-Sawyer College community... Responsibilities • Oversees the design and production of all relevant print materials ensuring deadlines are met, product meets college standards and stays within budget • Designs logos, icons, web graphics, infographics and illustrations using analog and digital media • Designs interactive digital content as needed • Collaborates with editorial staff and design team on the production of the biannual college magazine • Manages the printing of all collateral produced within the Office of Marketing & Communications and communicates with various printing vendors • Ability to follow brand guidelines and updates college visual style guide, when necessary, as well as staying on top of current digital, marketing and visual trends within the design community • Redesigns and updates college visual style guide when necessary • Delivers work with a high level of creative aesthetic while appealing to a broad audience • Choose and/ or plan?imaging for webpages, including color correction, sizing and file optimization • Collaborates with Website & Brand Manager on?improvements to website’s?physical layout and design, as well as updating and managing existing content on website • Collaborates on?organizational structure?and navigation of?existing?website?content • Evaluates department requests for meeting the college’s marketing strategy ? Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or higher in graphic design or digital media preferred • Professional experience as a graphic designer with portfolio • Solid foundation in typography, color theory, layout and design • Proven understanding and ability in pagination for print publication • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite applications, especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator • Familiarity with CMS and the ability to use and customize web templates • Ability to illustrate using analog and digital media • Solid understanding of offset and digital printing processes, print management and cost estimation • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while effectively prioritizing tasks, timelines, and expectations • Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with colleagues, as well as work independently • Basic writing and proofreading skills We are passionate about building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working environment for all employees.
