Are you experienced with Graphic Design and have a passion for public service? Do you have exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task? Conceptualizes and executes visual design materials in support of City messages, working either from basic or more developed directions, specifications, and outcome goals.Produces finished graphic materials of all sorts, for use in departmental and Citywide messaging, with emphasis on clarity, accessibility, and adherence to City standards.Serves as lead design liaison for City departments on the use and implementation of the Canva graphic design suite, including developing templates, toolkits, and other resources for departments within Canva.Works as part of the overall Public Communications team to support the message development and delivery needs of City departments, divisions, and other entities.Provides principal oversight of departmental adherence to the City's branding standards and work with the Director of Public Communications to identify and remedy situations of noncompliance.Practices supportive, holistic, and inclusive design development, open to all inputs while maintaining adherence to standards and expectations of the organization.Trains, coaches and assists city-wide staff in the use of Canva and in design standards and principles.Performs other duties as assigned.The City of Chesapeake offers an exceptional range of benefits. for a full list of benefits and employee perks.
