Graphic Designer

LifeSpire of Virginia is looking for a graphic designer/content creator to support Home Office and community initiatives. The ideal candidate will need an eye for detail and enjoy identifying solutions to communications challenges in ways that are visually compelling. Our collaborative corporate team works hard but has fun doing it and is energized by our mission of empowering individuals with choices in purposeful living. What you’ll do: • Employ computer software to design digital and print newsletters, magazines, brochures, ad creative and other graphic design concepts • Designs digital assets to include web pages using WordPress, special event collateral, email templates, flyers, social media graphics, and infographics • Partner with Senior Manager of Communications to create social media content (video/animation) - emphasis on short-form video • Produce/edit video content • Serves as the primary point of contact with printer vendors and ensures quality control for all deliverables in partnership with the Manager of Communications • Designs templates and other assets for use on social media and automated email marketing • Generate creative concepts and ideas proactively which will include templates for community-based newsletters, menus and other printed materials • Collaborate closely with the corporate marketing and communications team on internal/external business needs • Work closely with community resident life departments, travel to communities, attend events, capture images/videos, post to social media as needed • Review and approve branded material to ensure compliance with LifeSpire Brand Standards. What you bring to the table: • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field • 2+ years of graphic design experience • Design and layout skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office products • Must be able to provide a portfolio of work during the interview process to demonstrate design and social media content • A client-oriented approach to design, with the ability to interpret feedback and tailor creative solutions for both internal and external audiences including older adults, family members, and organizational stakeholders • Superior organization and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines with minimal supervision • Understanding of branding practices • Basic photography skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
