Graphic Designer

Position Overview
Our University client based on Long Island is currently seeking a Graphic Designer to join their team on a freelance basis.

This role will require you to be onsite in Long Island (Rockville Center) 1 day per week. This assignment is ~7 hours per week. You will have the option to work one 7 hour day onsite, or 2 half days onsite.

This Designer will support the in-house creative team. This role will focus on creating compelling digital and print assets, supporting email marketing efforts, and ensuring brand consistency across multiple platforms.

The ideal candidate has a strong design eye, is comfortable working within brand guidelines, and is excited to contribute fresh, thoughtful creative ideas.

Key Responsibilities

Concept and design compelling marketing materials including brochures, flyers, magazines, books, and digital/social assetsCreate and optimize graphics for web and social platformsSupport email marketing campaigns in Mailchimp (template design, layout, and content placement)Work within the MARQ platform (similar to Canva) to update and refine branded templatesEnsure all creative aligns with established brand standards and visual identityPerform color correction, cropping, resizing, and general asset optimizationPrepare final files for print and vendor production, ensuring specs are metCollaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders on campaign initiativesTake direction from the Director of Graphic Design and implement feedback quickly and effectivelyManage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining qualityBring fresh creative ideas while working within established brand guidelinesQualifications

Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for layout, typography, and brandingExperience in both digital and print productionFamiliarity with email platforms (Mailchimp preferred)Experience with template-based design tools (MARQ, Canva, or similar)Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesSelf-starter who is detail-oriented and proactiveStrong communication and collaboration skillsIn this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
