Job Title: Apparel Production Associate / Graphic Designer

Job Summary

Special Delivery Hawaii is looking for a creative, detail-oriented team member to help design and produce custom apparel and merchandise for our clients. This is a hands-on, in-person position combining graphic design with daily production work—from preparing artwork and creating mockups to heat pressing, checking quality, and packing completed orders.

The ideal candidate enjoys working both at a computer and on the production floor, takes pride in accurate work, and can manage multiple orders while keeping projects organized and on schedule.

Duties

Create and edit graphics for apparel and other branded merchandise using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Prepare customer mockups and production-ready artwork
Clean up supplied artwork, recreate graphics in vector format, and adjust colors, dimensions, and placement for different garments and print methods.
Operate heat presses and apply transfers with consistent alignment, temperature, pressure, and timing.
Read production sheets and verify garment styles, colors, sizes, quantities, and artwork before starting each order.
Receive, count, sort, and organize blank garments, transfers, and production supplies.
Inspect finished products for print placement, application quality, and accuracy.
Fold, count, pack, and label completed orders for pickup, delivery, or shipping.
Track production progress, flag shortages or artwork issues, and communicate clearly with the team.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow equipment care and safety procedures.

Experience & Qualifications

Working proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, including vector editing, typography, image cleanup, and preparing files for print.
A portfolio or work samples demonstrating apparel graphics, merchandise mockups, logo work, or print design.
Hands-on apparel production experience preferred.
Understanding of artwork resolution, transparent backgrounds, vector versus raster files, outlined fonts, and accurate sizing.
Strong attention to detail when reviewing artwork, garment counts, sizes, colors, and finished products.
Ability to follow production instructions, stay organized, and complete repetitive tasks consistently.
Comfortable balancing computer-based design work with standing, handling garments, and packing orders.
Dependable, willing to learn, and able to communicate questions or production issues before they affect an order.

Nice to Have

Experience preparing artwork for embroidery digitizing, screen printing, or sublimation.
Familiarity with Shopify for reviewing orders and supporting fulfillment.
Experience using Google Sheets or Excel for production lists, inventory, and order tracking.
Experience with garment sourcing, apparel decoration, or custom merchandise production.
