Position SummaryAs the NJASAP Graphic Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping how the Union communicates with its members, their families, our airline labor partners, the media and public. You will be responsible for creating impactful visuals that advance union campaigns, support education and outreach and promote member engagement. This is a unique opportunity to combine design skills with advocacy in support of the aviation and labor communities. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop digital and print materials such as social media graphics, newsletters, flyers, infographics, posters, presentation decks and campaign brandingCollaborate with the NJASAP Communications Group to visually represent union initiatives, safety messaging, bargaining updates and outreach/education campaignSocial Media Outreach: Develop, design and edit communicationsInternal Communications: Develop, design and edit communicationsGraphic design work to support communicationsDesign content that resonates with professional pilots and union members and upholds the values of solidarity, professionalism and aviation safetySupport the development of internal and external communications, including materials for member meetings, news releases, lobbying efforts and conferencesCreate visual content optimized for web, email and social media channelsManage multiple design projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentTake photos and videos of Union events to be used in Union mediaAssist with communication development & delivery specific to manuals and resource bookletsSchedule routine communications for distribution (e.g., member-, volunteer, new hire-specific messages)Post communications to the NJASAP Online Community & App via WordPressDesign and update web pages and resourcesDevelop communication templates for internal email distribution systemPost to NJASAP’s social media channels (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn)Other tasks as assigned by the NJASAP Executive DirectorQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or a related fieldAt least four years of professional design experience, ideally including work with unions, advocacy groups, non-profits or political organizationStrong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Canva, WordPress Elementor and other design toolsAbility to work in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines and multiple projects in progressExcellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to create clear, compelling, and organized visual communicationsAbility to adapt designs based on feedback from multiple stakeholdersFamiliarity with aviation industry or labor movement preferred, but not requiredA portfolio that showcases a strong command of layout, branding and campaign
